Carlos Lopes

Carlos Lopes is a distinguished hospitality executive with over three decades of transformative leadership in the luxury hotel and resort sector. His career spans strategic operations, brand development, and high-stakes hospitality management across prestigious international properties.

At Rosewood Hotels, Lopes served as a senior Vice President where he played a critical role in centralizing marketing and distribution initiatives. His strategic leadership was evident in his oversight of important property repositioning efforts, including the transformation of Hotel Bel-Air and Hotel Hana Maui. He was particularly instrumental in directing the grand opening of Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas, serving as the launch committee chair and ensuring a seamless and impressive debut.

During his tenure with Olympus Hospitality as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Lopes demonstrated his comprehensive approach to hospitality management. He was responsible for directing operations across 14 Rock Resorts properties, developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and branding strategies that ensured consistent excellence across a diverse portfolio of luxury destinations.

As Vice President & Managing Director of Hotel Bel-Air, Lopes led one of the most iconic luxury hotels in Los Angeles, further solidifying his reputation for operational excellence and strategic vision. His international perspective was particularly evident in his successful negotiation of management agreements for six hotels across Europe and Mexico.

Currently serving as Managing Director for Luxury Hotel Advisors, Lopes continues to leverage his extensive experience to guide and transform luxury hospitality enterprises.

Born in Portugal, he pursued his academic foundation at Sir George William University (now Concordia University) in Montreal, Canada, where he earned a liberal arts degree. This interdisciplinary educational background has been instrumental in shaping his holistic approach to hospitality management.
